Materials
What we build things out of, and why it matters.
Chemical resistance, load and cleanability decide the specification long before appearance does. These are the material options we quote from.
| Component | Options | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Worktop | Epoxy resin 25 mm, phenolic resin 19 mm, 304 stainless steel, chemical-resistant laminate | Epoxy for aggressive solvents and acids; phenolic for general wet chemistry; stainless for food, cleanroom and washdown areas |
| Cabinet body | Cold-rolled steel with epoxy powder coat, or moisture-resistant MDF/plywood with chemical-resistant laminate | Steel where reagents and washdown are constant; wood where budget and appearance lead |
| Bench frame | C-frame, H-frame, cabinet-supported or mobile on locking castors | C-frame for wheelchair access and flexible reconfiguration; cabinet-supported for maximum storage |
| Sinks | Epoxy resin, polypropylene, 304 stainless steel, cup sinks and drip cups | Matched to the drain chemistry, not to the worktop |
| Service fixtures | Colour-coded water, gas, vacuum, compressed air and nitrogen, on removable service indexes | Colour coding to laboratory convention so a new analyst can read the bench |
| Finish | Chemical-resistant epoxy powder coat in brand or standard colours | Tested for resistance to reagent spill and repeated cleaning |
