A laboratory is not furniture. It is a system — and we deliver all of it.

Most suppliers sell one layer: a contractor builds the room, a furniture company ships casework, a third party commissions the hoods, and the gaps between them become your problem. Scientora holds all four stages on a single contract.

We start from your process, not from a catalogue. Bench layouts, containment strategy, service routing and equipment schedules, issued as stamped shop drawings for approval.

We don't just build the lab. We develop the methods that run in it.

Scientora's analytical group designs fit-for-purpose GC and HPLC methods from scratch, validates them to ICH, USP and AOAC guidelines, optimises and transfers existing methods between instruments and laboratories, and trains your analysts to run them reliably in-house.

Every hood we install is commissioned with a face-velocity traverse and alarm verification, and you receive the signed report at handover.

Common questions

What clients ask us first.

Do you build the laboratory itself, or only supply the furniture?
Both. Scientora works from the empty shell forward: partitions, flooring, ceilings, exhaust and make-up air, gas, water, vacuum and power reticulation, then casework, fume hoods and fixtures, then commissioning and start-up. Most clients bring us in for all four stages on one contract; some bring us in only for the equipment package.
Where in Canada do you work?
Our base is Toronto, Ontario. We work throughout Ontario and Quebec as standard and travel nationally for larger installations. Tell us the postal code and we will confirm the mobilisation cost in the quote.
How long does a laboratory project take?
A straightforward equipment package — benching, a few hoods, storage — is typically six to ten weeks from approved shop drawings to installed. A full design-build fit-out of a new suite normally runs four to eight months depending on permits and mechanical scope.
What standards do you design to?
Fume hoods are designed against CSA Z316.5 and tested to ASHRAE 110. Casework follows SEFA 8 performance criteria and fixtures follow SEFA 7. Flammable and solvent storage follows NFPA 30. Electrical components are CSA or ULC certified.
Can you work in an operating laboratory without shutting it down?
Yes. Renovation in a live building is a large part of what we do — phased work, dust and fume containment, out-of-hours installation windows and staged shutdowns coordinated with your operations team.
Do you also help with the analysis, not just the room?
Yes. Our Method Development group develops, validates, optimises and transfers GC and HPLC methods, supports IQ/OQ/PQ documentation and trains your analysts. It is a separate service line and you do not need to be a construction client to use it.
