Choosing between a LAF bench and a Class II cabinet
They are not interchangeable, and the difference matters for safety. A laminar flow bench protects the product: filtered air moves across the work and out toward the operator. A Class II cabinet protects the product, the operator and the room, because the air leaving the cabinet is filtered too. If there is any biological hazard in the work, the answer is a Class II cabinet, not a LAF bench — and we will say so even when the LAF bench is cheaper.
Certification and the annual schedule
Every unit we supply is performance-tested and certified at installation, and we put the annual re-certification in a schedule and remind you before it lapses. An expired certificate is one of the fastest ways to fail an inspection.
